How to send an invoice with Cadus

Add your client and the work
Open a new invoice, choose your client, and describe the job. Add the amount and a due date so your client knows what they owe and when to pay.

Review and email the invoice
Check the client email, charges, and payment terms. Send the invoice from the app. Your client receives an email with a PDF attachment they can keep for their records.

Follow the payment
Enable online payments after completing Stripe setup, or record a payment received another way. Review the invoice's remaining balance and payment status in Cadus.

A useful invoice tells your client who is billing them, what the charge covers, and when payment is due. Use a specific description, confirm the billing email, and check the amount before sending.
For a contractor, that might be labor and materials for a completed deck. For a freelancer, it might be a design project or a consulting engagement. Include enough detail for your client to recognize the agreed work.
Cadus emails a PDF your client can save. If you have enabled online payments, the email also includes a link to review and pay the invoice in a browser.

Questions about invoicing with Cadus
Is Cadus a free invoice app?
Yes. The free plan includes unlimited Cadus-branded invoices with payment links. Creating an invoice does not require a Pro subscription. Online payment processing has separate fees.
Does my client need to download Cadus?
No. Your client receives the invoice by email with a PDF attachment. When online payments are enabled, they can open the payment link in their browser without installing Cadus.
Can I accept credit card payments?
Yes, after you complete Stripe setup and enable online payments. Your client can use the payment options available at checkout. Stripe processing fees and the Cadus online payment fee apply.
Can I record a cash or check payment?
Yes. Record the amount, payment date, and cash or check method against the invoice. You can record a partial payment and keep track of the remaining balance.
Can I create recurring invoices?
Yes. Cadus can create recurring invoice drafts. Review each draft and send it when it is ready; recurring drafts are not automatically emailed to clients.
Is Cadus available outside the United States?
Cadus is built for U.S. users and is available in the United States on iOS and Android. The invoice examples on this page use U.S. dollars.
